Head pastry chef Jenny has designed this decadent Valentine dessert especially for you and your significant other.
These delicious cream buns are a tradition dating back to medieval Rome when Maritozzis were a favoured treat during Lent, as they were not too sweet with no animal fats.
During the 18th century, men even used Maritozzi to propose marriage, possibly with a ring or other token baked inside. The word “marito” is Italian for husband.
Miller + Baker’s Rhubarb and Rose Maritozzi is made with a light as air Shokupan bun filled with house-made rhubarb jam, rose and rhubarb scented cream, dusted with dragonfruit powder and sprinkled with freeze-dried rose petals.
